DOZENS of cyclists put their mountain biking skills to the test on the Olympic course at Hadleigh Park for the fourth round of the Mud, Sweat and Gears series.

The eastern regional event attracted riders from East Anglia and beyond on Sunday, with the home Hadleigh MTB Club well represented

The days was divided into races for various categories round the challenging circuit that hosted the 2012 Olympic Games mountain biking competition.

The Grand Vet Male category saw Hadleigh MTB Club's Harry Board finished 26th, with clubmate Iain Webb in 30th, while the junior male's event saw Robert Staines finish fourth and Jake Darragh fifth.

Joe Champness was the top Hadleigh rider in trhe juvenile make category, finishing eighth, ahead of clubmate Adam Cavalla (12th).

Jane Brockman came home sixth in the open female class, while the open male section had Paul Cavalla ride to fourth place for Hadleigh.

He was followed home by clubmates Mark Darley (8th), Matthew Phillips (14th), Andy Ladflin (23rd) and Colin Stevenson (42nd)

Adam Chamberlain finished ninth in the sport male class, and Alex Cutmore and Daniel Cavalla finished 10th and 11th respectively in the under-12 boys' event.

Susan Wood clinched second place in the veteran female category, while David Green was the top Hadleigh rider in the veteran male class, finishing 38th.

Molly Cutmore came home fourth in the youth female section, while George Crocombe finished second in the youth male, missing top spot by 29 seconds.

Other Hadleigh riders in the category were: Harry Bates (10th), Matthew Darley (15th) and Ben Matthews (19th).

The next round in the MSG series is at Carver Barracks on July 3rd.
