ALLEYN Court Preparatory School pupils produced some terrific performances at the Independent Schools Association Regional Junior Athletics at Garon Park last week.

On Monday June 13, the school’s pupils between Years 4 and 6 took part, with Alleyn Court excelling, winning 32 medals, including seven gold, as well as the Year 6 Boys’ Team trophy against 16 other schools from across the East of England.

As well as that, 12 of the participants qualifying for the National Finals at Birmingham’s Alexander Stadium at the end of the month.

And Director of Sport Noel Smith said the results were indicative of the pupils’ hard work in recent weeks.

“The Alleyn Court pupils has been training hard and giving up all of their free time at school to work on their individual events,” he said. “This hard work payed off and they all performed brilliantly.

“I was once again impressed with all of my pupil’s attitude, determination and camaraderie at the event and in their preparation. Well done to them all.”

Other local schools competing included Thorpe Hall School and Woodlands School, with a host of other schools across Suffolk and East Anglia.
