STUART Bingham is into the second round of the Riga Masters, although he was given a scare by Wales’ Lee Walker.
The Vange player was 1-0 and 2-1 down in the match as he struggled to find his fluency in the early frames.
But breaks of 56, 62 and 52 saw him over the line and set up a second round tie today against either Fergal O’Brien or Adam Duffy this afternoon.
Should he win that clash, Bingham will return to the table in double-quick time for his third round match, where he will play either Ian Burns, Michael Holt or world champion Mark Selby tonight.
Elsewhere, it was disappointment for Basildon’s Allan Taylor, as he was beaten 4-0 in the first round by Chinese opponent Tian Pengfei.
