CONCORD Rangers’ under 14 side are celebrating after winning the ACES national finals in Market Harborough.

The Canvey based club were invited to the competition – which is described as being for the best of the best – after winning the Eastern Junior League.

And Concord manager Steve Sullivan was delighted to see his youngsters get their hands on yet another trophy.

“I’m so proud of the boys and winning this cup has completed a fantastic first season together,” said Sullivan.

“Teams came from all over – including Dundee and Portsmouth – to take part and we didn’t really know what to expect because we only knew about two of the other sides taking part.

“But every single one of the boys was fantastic and all of them in the squad played a big part because there were a lot of games in a short space of time.”

Concord emerged victorious from an initial group of six before going on to win their last 16 clash, quarter final and semi.

In the final they triumphed 1-0 against Nottingham with Owen Young bagging the only goal of the game.
