SOUTH Essex Gymnastics Club members enjoyed success at the Pipers Vale Pearl competition in Ipswich at the end of last month.

In the novice aged six category, Sienna Mcoy took home gold at her first ever competition, with Elsie Shepherd excelling in the novice aged seven category, winning gold on vault, bars and beam and silver on the floor.

Ocean Raine Ross came first on the vault, level with Elsie, and also took home third place on the beam. Lois Drummond came first on the floor.

Also competing in this age group was Nancy Fiddes who came second on the beam, with Elsie Nicholls coming fifth of 18 gymnasts on the beam.

In the novice age 8-9 age group, Olivia Murray, Maggie Smith and Connie Mae Griffith came in the top half of 18 competitors, in the intermediate age group ages 8/9 Isabel Cartwright came first on the beam, with Evie Carr second on the vault and beam. Mia Walsh took home bronze on the vault and bar.

In the advanced age 9-10 group Ruby Miller came first on the floor and second on the bars along with Teagan Newcombe taking gold on both vault and beam.

Holly McDonagh took home three silvers in bar, beam and floor in the intermediate 10-12 age group, with Darcey Fraser winning two bronzes on the beam and on the floor, as Jessica Haycock took gold on the floor.

In the advanced age group 11-13, Elise de Boos took gold on the vault and beam, silver on the floor and bronze on the bars.

Kristi Mia Walker came second on the vault and third on the beam, with Emma Coombs taking gold on both bars and floor and silver on the vault.

In the advanced 14+ age group Maisy Cockerill took home gold on vault and beam and silver on the bar, as Mia Brien took two bronzes.
