LEIGH Striders runners Arran and Cathy Salmon enjoyed a holiday with a difference as they took part in the Castaway 5k, organised by RunDisney.
The pair took time out of their holiday to take part in the event, which takes place on Castaway Cay, a Disney owned island in the Bahamas.
They ran together and both finished in under 30 minutes, which wasn’t bad in temperatures of 34 degrees.
RunDisney offers a variety of marathons and half-marathons at its parks across the world. For further details see rundisney.com.
Entry is now open for the Leigh Striders 10k road race which takes place on Sunday, October 16.
The route starts on Two Tree Island and takes in the Old Town, seafront and the infamous Belton Way hills.
All finishers will receive a unique commemorative medal and post-event goodies.
