THE float fishing continues to be very productive at Doggett’s Farm Fisheries as the summer goes on.

There is the likelihood that, on a bright day, sport drops early afternoon and the tench disappear until the evening. For best results, an assortment of baits will not fail and it is advised you explore some of the deeper corners that Doggett’s is so well known for.

The carp have been loving the hot weather and can often been seen cruising but this does make fishing difficult.

Lewis Clark has hooked a few this week including a very nice 20lb fully-scaled mirror, while fishing companion Charlie Ridpath also landed a few fish on dog biscuits, including a very pretty mid double mirror.

Fishing a night session on the short arm, Jim Osborne landed his first ever Doggett’s carp when he banked a very scrappy 19lb mirror, for numerous reasons, almost didn't make the net.

Also landing his first Doggetts carp was 16-year-old Alfie Osbourne who fished Bounty hunter boilies during a morning session on the long arm ,which produced some good tench and a mid-double mirror.
