JOHN Wayne Hibbert says his upcoming fight with Tommy Coyle is “do-or-die” for both fighters.

The Horndon-on-the-Hill boxer will step into the ring at Wembley Arena on Saturday, November 26 against the Yorkshireman, looking to avenge the defeat he suffered in his last outing – a sixth round TKO against Italian Andrea Scarpa in June.

Coyle was also beaten last time out, edged out on points by Tyrone Nurse in a British super lightweight title fight in July.

And Hibbert, 31, says he simply must win come next month, on a bill he is currently topping.

“It is a great fight for the spectators and both boxers and it is one I believe I can win,” he said.

“It is going to be interesting for everyone as, at the end of it, if we are honest it is do or die for both of us.

“Where does the loser go from here?

“There is a lot lying on it.

“I wanted this fight and I am think his style will suit me and make for a good fight.

“Tommy comes forward but he can box on the back foot as well.

“I respect him and he is no mug.”

Hibbert found out he would be doing battle with Coyle a month ago.

But he has been preparing almost twice as long as he looks to avenge his defeat to Scarpa, and try to line up a final shot at a world title fight.

And he is excited to be boxing at a new venue.

Hibbert has previously fought at the 02 Arena and London’s Copper Box among others in his career to date.

However, he is now looking forward to fighting at Wembley Arena and remains in heavy training for the fight.

“I am buzzing for Wembley,” he said.

“It is another one to tick off and to tell the kids about.

“I have not been there for a long time so it will be special.

“It’s all going well in terms of training and we have some good sparring coming down.

“Nathan Dale, Johnny Garton and Army boxer Connor Vian are among them and we are working very hard.

“All he brings I will have answers for.

“It is only five weeks away so I will not be going to Tenerife to train as the weather is good enough here.

“I have all the right things here for me to win, and that is what I will do.”

Clarendon Home Improvement and JM Sealant have also joined Hibbert as new sponsors for the upcoming fight.
