TWO Canvey youngsters have come back with medals from WUKF European Championships in Italy.
Piau Maprangon, 17, and Jaimee Leigh Beadle, eight, were part of a 10 strong team last month.
The team joined up with London’s Sensei Essam, to join their very strong squad who came back with several European Champions.
The two, from Phoenix Karate Club, in Northwick Road, joined the Team Rotation Team Kumite teams with other girls.
Maprangon achieved a silver medal and Jaimee picked up bronze and the youngsters are already looking towards next year as they compete in Malta and Hungary.
Phoenix Karate Club has grown in numbers and strength with increasing success in competitions this year.
It is down to the parents’ effort and support, although the club are encouraging local businesses to help provide sponsorship next year.
