A RAYLEIGH primary school return to their bid to play at Wembley Stadium when they turn their attentions back to the Football League Kids Cup next month.
Grove Wood Primary School’s Year 6 football team triumphed in the Southend United Kids Cup against other local schools, meaning they will now represent the county in the next round.
The regional finals will be held at MK Dons’ Stadium mk and should they progress they will edge another step closer to playing at the Home of Football at the end of the season.
They are not the only age group at the school to be enjoying recent success.
The Year 3 and 4 team and 5 and 6 team have secured brand new kits in association with Hockley’s ‘Touchline Live Music’ scheme.
Ant Seaman coaches the teams alongside Jon Banks and Paul Sangwin. And he said he hopes the new team colours can inspire the team in Milton Keynes.
“The new kit has given the boys more confidence and they are thriving on that as their current results demonstrate,” he said.
“We can’t wait to get to Milton Keynes and get going.”
Grove Wood are still on the look out for a sponsor for their girls football team and anyone interested can contact the school by emailing admin@grovewood.essex.sch.uk.
