MMA star Mike Hales made it 10 wins in a row with a comprehensive triumph against Kane Johnson at the Troxy in London.

The 21-year-old, from Canvey Island, triumphed in the first round and was delighted to maintain his unbeaten record in the cage.

“I was very pleased with the win,” said Hales.

“I finished him in the first round with a flurry of punches and knees.

“I tried to keep it standing as long as I could and put a show on but ended up finishing it after one minute and 45 seconds.

“I loved every single second of it and was feeling more and more comfortable in there.

“I started to really relax and let my shots go, which got me the win in the end.

“It’s 10 out of 10 for me now and I’m looking to remain undefeated.”

Hales’ latest triumph came against a late replacement who stepped in to take the place of Kane Gold.

But the late alteration did not affect Hales who was making a comeback after five months out of action.

“I had a break for almost five months due to politics and a few other issues but I came back with a bang which was really pleasing,” said Hales.

“I will be looking to fight every two to three months from now on and I’m looking to take over the featherweight division.”

Hales is already back in training at Canvey’s SS8 and Keddles gym in Kent and expects to return to action within the next three months.

“My next fight is in the UCMMA which takes place at the start of September,” confirmed Hales.

“I’m looking forward to showing what I’m made of because I don’t feel like I’ve had the chance to show off all my skills yet.

“I’m also going to try and get another fight before September.”

Hales was keen to thank his sponsors Debut Salons and Woods Paving for their support, along with MC Stallion for creating and performing his entrance track.
