REIGNING Echo Junior Sports Personality of the Year Josh Rees has capped another great week by again being selected to play for England.
Last weekend Southend High student Rees was a member — for a record fourth year running — of a team from the Prittlewell Chase school to win an English Schools Cup track and field national athletics title.
And now he has been named in the England under-17 football squad to take part in the Nordic Cup competition from July 23 to August 3.
Competition will come from Denmark, the Faroe Islands, Finland, Iceland, Scotland, Sweden and Norway.
Last season Rees, who is on Arsenal’s books, played in two of the three games as England’s under-16 side won the Victory Shield home international series.
Also in the 18-strong England line-up is Robert Hall, from West Ham United.
