TOM Davis has been making a splash in the world of water polo.
The 14-year-old joined Basildon and District Swimming Club’s water polo section just two years ago.
But he has done so well that he now attends the England Development Programme.
Davis initially started playing at Brentwood School and he now plays water-polo four times a week.
He was quickly talent-spotted and has progressed to training with the South-East Regional Squad in Watford.
In the summer of 2009, he attended the Millfield National training camp.
Davis also regularly represents Basildon, who have a thriving youth water-polo section, with boys and girls progressing to county and regional level.
Water-polo is a fun sport and you do not have to be a county level swimmer to come along.
The youngest member is aged nine and the oldest is more than 40-years-old.
The club’s adult and youth teams play regularly and train on Sunday at 5.30pm to 7pm at the Gloucester Park pool.
Anyone interested in finding out more should visit www.basildonswimmingclub.com or email wendy.pratt@gmail.com.
The first two sessions are free of charge.
