JAKE Fitt-Spooner has a national boxing title in his sights after being crowned London champion.
The 14-year-old from Basildon secured a 22-14 points win over Cian Kirwan from the Nemesis boxing club in Erith, Kent.
Victory over three, two-minute rounds handed the Woodlands School pupil the London regional under-40kg title in the National Schoolboys championships.
Jake will now box in the national quarter-finals over the weekend of February 18 and 19 in Oxford, although he does not know yet who his opponent will be.
Jake started boxing three years ago at Billericay ABC and was there for 12 months before heading up the A13 to West Ham after trying a few other clubs.
He has been with the east London club for two months.
Jake’s gruelling seven-days-a-week training has paid dividends however as he is yet to be beaten in eight bouts.
