ADAM Hickey raced to a comfortable victory in the Eastleigh 10K putting aside two years of hurt in the process.
The Southend AC runner had finished runner-up in 2013 and 2014 but he was first across the line in a field of 2,800 runners last Sunday.
Hickey held off the challenge off his nearest rivals to finish in a time of 29 minutes 24 seconds, 22 seconds ahead of second placed Christopher Zablocki, of Chichester Runners & AC.
It was 39 seconds faster than his previous best at the course and was just 55 seconds off the course record.
