SOUTHEND High School’s girls and boys teams put their best foot forward to win the Lee Valley Indoor Athletics Cup for the South East region.
The boys A team - made up of Justin Price, Micah Gabajumo, Nosa Isobor, Sam Riley and Sampson Onourah - won by five points.
Additionally, Sampson broke the indoor shot record with a superb 11.03m throw.
The Boys B team - comprising of Shaleen Ijaz, Philip Quansah, Nathan Dalling, Frankie Shepherd and Kai Anderson Whittington - placed second in the B final.
Southend High School for Girls’ Year 7 team triumphed in the Lee Valley Indoor Athletics competition after a close contest with Brentwood School and The Coopers’ Company and Coborn School.
Following the final analysis, Southend won by a single point from Brentwood School.
The efforts of Sophie McCullum, Daisy Harris, Jessica Noble, Jessica Barber, Nifemi Fasanya, Michelle Agyemang Lydia Stevenson and Carissa Baxter ensured the Southend girls finished top of the pile.
