BASILDON returned to winning ways with a 49-7 triumph against bottom of the table Lowestoft & Yarmouth.

Basildon had not won in their previous three outings but never looked troubled against the Suffolk side.

They went in front with a try from Ben Brown and then extended that lead when Ben White also went over.

Twenty minutes later, John Hickey touched down and the fourth try came when White scored his second try of the game.

A fifth tried followed, which was converted by Brad Johnson, to make it 27-0 before Lowestoft grabbed a try of their own just before the break.

In the second half, Basildon scored a good try through Ian Stewart which was quickly followed by White completing his hat trick. Johnson converted before Stewart scored a second try.

The game then finished with an excellent try from full-back Dan Rowell who made yards at pace to beat the Lowestoft defence and complete the scoring. Basildon now sit seventh.
