ENGLAND star Ben Youngs believes Seevic’s players will be more determined than ever to carve out a career in rugby.

Scrum-half Youngs watched Seevic suffer a 13-5 defeat to Churcher’s College in the under 18 vase final at Twickenham yesterday.

But he believes the defeat will spur Seevic’s players onto greater things.

“Twickenham is an amazing place to play and now they’ve got a taste of it they will want more,” said Youngs, who scored two tries in England’s pulsating 55-35 win against France in the Six Nations last weekend.

“I’m sure it will give them more motivation to succeed in what they want to do and I thought it was a great final too.”

Seevic found themselves 8-0 down at half-time with Churcher’s Seb Herold kicking a penalty before Seb Head touched down for the first try of the game.

Churcher’s made it 13-0 with a try from Zach Housden before the Thundersley sixth form college hit back with winger Amos Filson charging down the right hand side of the pitch to score.

However, handling errors stopped Seevic getting back in to the game.

And Youngs felt Seevic could maybe have sneaked a win if they had taken more of their opportunities late in the game.

“If Seevic had got the try they looked like scoring then the last couple of minutes would’ve been very tight and exciting and who knows what might have happened,” said Youngs.

“But you need to remember that getting here it’s just a massive achievement because there are 1,000 teams that go in for it.

“There’s certainly plenty for Seevic to be proud of too. Of course they will be disappointed they haven’t won but what an occasion to be part of at such a young age.

“They brought a good crowd and who we were very loud and I’m sure it’s something they will always remember.”
