Mercedes Foy - among the try scorers for the T-Birds
T-BIRDS started the season with a 34-7 win against Saracens.
The Thurrock side, who were beaten in the final of the promotion play-offs last term, kicked off the new campaign in fine style.
But T-Birds were forced to overcome a shaky start which saw them concede a penalty try and have a player sin binned.
However, two sparkling back-line tries from Sophie Tyler and Sally Tuson sparked celebrations.
Captain Mercedes Foy also touched down to make it 24-7 at half-time before Tyler scored again two minutes into the second half and Stopard-Baker completed the scoring late on.
