THURROCK are the early leaders in London One North, after beating Tring 53-36 on Saturday.

Jake Barrand, Reece Durrance, Joss Nunn, Freddie Russo, Hagen Mumba, Charlie Russo and Justinas Buktus all scored tries while Barrand added six conversions and two penalties.

Their efforts made it two wins out of two for Thurrock and delighted their director of rugby Dean White.

“I was very pleased with the performance and result against a very strong Tring side,” he said.

“We knew it was going to be a tough test but our players dug deep and produced some of the best rugby we have seen at the club for many years.

“We are only going to improve with time if we keep these players fit and this was only the second time that this group has played together.”

Thurrock will be looking to make it three wins in a row when they travel to Chelmsford this weekend.

And White believes T’s are benefitting from an incredibly strong squad.

“We have around 45 players fighting for the top two sides in the club,” said White.

“Our numbers are growing and the buzz round the club is unbelievable.”
