T-BIRDS roared to a 41-7 win against Henley Hawks in Championship One South on Sunday.

It took just eight minutes for T’s to get on the score-sheet when Katherine Emerson got on the end of a backs move before great play from India Harvey resulted in Rachel French also touching down.

However, just when it looked as though T-Birds would run riot, a scuffle on the floor led to them being reduced to 14 players.

Henley took advantage to score a converted try which cut T’s lead to 10-7 at half-time.

But, after the break, T’s reverted to a power game and mauled for 25 meters before a couple of quick rucks on the Henley line led to Mercedes Foy smashing over.

Moments later, a try from Sophie Tyler extended T-Birds’ lead before another yellow card disrupted their play.

However, when back to full strength, T’s ran riot with French claiming her second try before Harvey also touched down.

The victory leaves T-Birds second in the standings ahead of Sunday’s clash with table-topping Richmond.
