WESTCLIFF face the toughest test possible tomorrow as they head to table topping London Irish Wild Geese bidding to secure their first win of the season.
Westcliff have been beaten in all seven of their National Three London & SE clashes this term while their hosts have yet to be beaten.
And Westcliff’s director of rugby Nick Sigwart is fully aware of the size of the task facing his team this weekend.
“London Irish are a tough side, we saw them play against Southend in pre-season and they looked impressive so it is no surprise to see them doing well in the league,” said Sigwart.
“They will be gunning for promotion this season and are definitely one of the strongest sides in the league.
“But having last weekend off came at a good time for us after the disappointing defeat to Colchester.
“We’ve now had a chance to regroup before the block of November games.”
Westcliff, who are second from bottom in the table, have no new injury concerns for tomorrow’s game but prop forward Randal Whitmore is expected to return.
