ASTON Bevans-Royston wants Southend Saxons to produce their first 80 minute performance of the National Two South season when they head to Bishop’s Stortford tomorrow.

Southend have struggled to consistently find their best form so far this term.

But Bevans-Royston is keen for Saxons to put in a complete display this weekend in their final outing of 2015.

“We’re in for a tough game but we want to give a full 80 minute performance which is something we haven’t really achieved as yet this season,” said Bevans-Royston.

“Bishop’s Stortford are a good side who play an expansive game.

“They have dangerous backs, a good pack and they're organised.

However, they're definitely beatable and we know what we need to do to beat them.

“It's just about implementing that on a Saturday now.”

Ninth placed Southend were beaten 33-11 by league leaders Cambridge last weekend.

But Bevans-Royston is demanding a positive reaction to the defeat against a Bishop’s Stortford side currently sitting “It’s important to bounce back this week,” said the prop.

“It's always disappointing to lose so obviously we want to get back to winning ways and end the year on a high so we can get set for round of the fixtures.”

Southend have won five and lost six of their 14 matches this season.

And Bevans-Royston wants victory this weekend to be the start of a more consistent spell for the Saxons.

“We've struggled a bit for consistency this season but we've had to make numerous changes to personnel every game due to injuries,” said Bevans-Royston.

“There are also a few long term injuries to players who would usually be starting every week for us but hopefully a win this weekend can signal the start of us being more consistent.”

Southend will be without winger Danny Cleare who misses out with an ankle problem and looks set to be replaced by Chris Bolton.

Dylan Day-White is also in line to start at hooker but influential Sonny Gay again misses out with a fractured wrist.
