ROCHFORD Hundred made it four wins in a row with a 24-22 triumph at Campion.
The victory moved Hundred up to fourth in the London Two North East standings.
And try scorer Matt Stewart was delighted to keep the good run of results going.
“It was an exciting game to play in as both of us were really up for a battle,” said Stewart.
“Campion had obviously recruited well in certain areas and sharpened up their gameplay but like the last few games we have had we never really panicked or felt like we were going to lose.
“The self-belief was really strong and our defence was superb in the last quarter with everybody putting their hands up to stop a Campion onslaught.
“The team is bonding really well both on and off the field which helps us greatly in these tight encounters.”
Stewart’s try came after Rochford had also been awarded two penalties tries.
And the 27-year-old was full of praise for his side’s pack who played a major part in the victory.
“I have to give the forwards massive credit for their scrummaging as they demolished a tidy Campion pack, which put us on the front foot for the majority of the game,” said Stewart.
“It’s great to have got another win but we don't really like to target too far ahead or be too ambitious.
“But another bonus point win for us next week would be brilliant to keep the momentum going and really make a challenge higher up the table.”
Rochford led 14-7 at half-time with Scott Horsburgh converting two penalty tries.
Campion hit back with a penalty at the start of the second half before Stewart collected his own kick forward to score a fine try which Horsburgh again converted to make it 21-10.
The hosts replied with a converted try of their own before a penalty from Horsburgh made it 24-17.
But Campion piled on the pressure in the closing stages and scored a try they were unable to convert before Rochford dug deep to maintain their two point lead until the final whistle.
