ROCHFORD Hundred made it five London Two North East wins in a row with a 27-14 victory at Romford & Gidea Park.

The triumph kept Hundred fourth in the standings.

But Rochford first team manager Graham Pratt felt it was a scrappy success.

“It was another difficult away game and, for the most part, it was a scrappy and sometimes bad-tempered encounter against our old rivals,” said Pratt.

“They disrupted us well and forced us into making errors but, in the end, our superior fitness, power and organisation were too much for Romford.”

Rochford opened the scoring with a first try for flanker Max Bacon who supported a good move to touch down.

But Romford hit back to take the lead with a converted try and stayed 7-5 in front until just before the break when stand-off Matt Stewart put up a well-directed high ball which impressive winger Louie Marshall picked up beautifully to speed over for a try.

Hundred remained on top at the start of the second half and a number of attacks eventually resulted in powerful centre Gavin Tusini forcing his way over the line.

Moments later, Stewart showed great skill to run through the defence to score under the posts before he added the conversion to make it 22-7.

Romford replied with a converted try of their own before Rochford sealed their win when the ball was sped out to winger Matt White who took full advantage of some space out wide to run through for a well taken try.
