SOUTHEND’S young stars helped New Hall School’s under 16 side finish as runners up in the Rosslyn Park national sevens.

Jake Harman, Greg Oxlade, Tom Clayton, Owen Taylor, Ollie Bluck, Sean Selvester and Josh Hallett all took part in the competition which saw 160 teams enter.

And they were at their brilliant best to help the Chelmsford school beat Durham, who had not lost in 75 sevens matches in the past three years, 22-17.

New Hall then also went on to beat Cowbridge 22-21 before narrowly losing to Brighton College 20-19 in the final.
