LONDON TWO NORTH EAST

South Woodham Ferrers 7, Rochford Hundred 34

ROCHFORD Hundred secured an eighth win in 11 games with a 34-7 triumph at South Woodham Ferrers on Saturday.

The victory kept Rochford fourth in the London Two North East standings.

And their first team manager Graham Pratt felt it was the second half performance which enable Hundred to secure another victory.

“For long periods of this highly competitive and hard fought match both teams battled it out for supremacy but in the end we put on a terrific second half display when it was needed and ran out deserved winners,” said Pratt.

“In the end it was a very pleasing result and we can now look forward to an Essex Cup Semi Final at home to our old rivals Romford and Gidea Park.”

Rochford will also be heading into the clash full of confidence after doing well to see off Woodham.

They opened the scoring when lively scrum half Ricki Gould broke along the touch-line and fed Matt White to score.

Scott Horsburgh added the conversion before he also added a penalty to put Rochford 10-0 in front at half-time.

After the break, centre Gavin Tusini entered the action and powered through for a fine individual try.

Tusini then touched down again to make it 20-0 before Gould bagged a neat try of his own to secure a bonus point for Rochford.

Horsburgh added the conversion before Woodham’s efforts were rewarded with an opportunist try under the posts which was duly converted.

However, Rochford had the last say in the proceedings as, just before the final whistle, impressive second row Scott Wheeler crashed over to score and Tusini added the conversion to bring an entertaining game to an end.
