FIT-AGAIN fly-half Jack Jones will be hoping to help Westcliff gun down high-flying Wimbledon at the Gables this weekend.

Westcliff secured their first victory of the season last time out, beating Amersham & Chiltern 25-20.

And Jones, who has returned from an 11 month absence with a knee problem, is keen for Westcliff to produce another determined display.

“We are getting better and better each week and when click we are very dangerous,” said Jones.

“But for us now it’s about staying focused for 80 minutes and executing our game plan and if we do so there will be many a win to celebrate this season, including one on Saturday.”

Wimbledon are currently second in the National Three London & SE standings with four wins in five games so far this season.

But Jones cannot wait to line against them after returning a long term injury problem.

“I have loved being out on the track again,” said Jones.

“It was very hard watching on for the majority of the season last year knowing there was nothing I could do.

“But I feel great now and it’s about putting in the performances on a personal level to do all I can for the team. “ Jones tore his posterior cruciate ligament and also had a micro fracture of his femur within the knee joint which led to him having an operation back in February.

However, Jones has now regained full fitness and was delighted to help Westcliff win last weekend.

“It was very important to get the win because we had been so close in the first few games and as a team we felt we should’ve had more from them,” said Jones, who was among the try scorers.

“It was great to get the monkey off our shoulders and put that to bed.”
