SEEVIC surged through to the third round of the NatWest Vase with a convincing 50-7 win against the Robert Clack School yesterday.

Seevic - who reached the final of the competition at Twickenham in 2015 - powered past their Dagenham based opponents at Southend Rugby Club’s Warners Bridge home.

But Seevic’s director of rugby Danny Cleare feels there is still plenty for his team to work on.

“It was a good result but we know we can play much better than we did out there,” said Cleare.

“I’m not being too hard on the boys by saying that.

“I just think they’re capable of more and that’s something we should be excited about.

“I think that’s the biggest victory we’ve ever had against Robert Clack and to get 50 points against them takes some doing.

“It would be great to have another good run in the competition but we know how difficult it can be.

“Last year we only made it to the third round and hopefully we can get much further this time.”

Winger Norbetas Radzevicius scored twice for Seevic while George Griffiths, David Rufai, Jake Spivey, Jordan Dyer and Dan Allison also touched down.

Fly half Tom Ramsey was in fine form with the boot.

And Cleare was full of praise for two of his stand out players.

“Jordan Dyer, who played at hooker and Dan Allison, who played at six, both really stood out for me,” said Cleare, who plays for Southend Saxons.

“Their performances were excellent and all in all we’re really pleased with how it’s gone.

“We will have to wait and see who we get in the next round now but it’s likely to be a difficult game.

“And we know we will have improve to reach the latter stages.”
