SOUTH Woodham Ferrers will be looking to continue their unbeaten start to the London Two North East season with a win at Norwich this afternoon.

Woodham have triumphed in their first three games of the new campaign.

But their progress has been hampered by two postponements due to concerns about their own pitch.

And this weekend’s clash with Norwich has also had to be switched.

“Due to the drainage work which was done by the council over the summer working too well the pitches have dried out,” explained Woodham manager Jack Kershaw.

“With little or no rain cracks have appeared.

“To get the game on, with player safety paramount, we agreed with Norwich to reverse our fixtures with them now coming down to us next February.”

Woodham are also expected to be boosted by the return of Jack Reeve this weekend.

Reeve impressed for the second team in Jersey last weekend and is looking forward to coming back in after suffering a wrist injury.

“It feels great to be back training with the boys, morale at training is excellent and I hope I can add to the feel good feeling around club right now,” said Reeve.

“We have started well and hope to continue to build on our season this weekend with a good result at Norwich.”

Woodham head into today’s game sixth in the table while Norwich are third - a point above their visitors - with three wins from five games.

>ROCHFORD Hundred will be looking for a second win in succession when they head to Woodford in London Two North East tomorrow.

Rochford, who are 10th, won their first game of the season last weekend.
