FOUR Seevic rugby stars have been selected in the under 18 Essex squad to face Eastern Counties at Saracens’ Allianz Park base this weekend.

Scrum half Jake Spivey, fly half Tom Ramsey, winger Norbertas Radzevicius and back row David Rufai have all been called up by their county for Sunday’s clash.

And Seevic’s director of rugby Danny Cleare is delighted to see the quartet receive such recognition.

“It’s very pleasing to see so many Seevic players representing their county,” said Cleare.

“They put a lot of effort in to developing their game and it is nice to see them playing representative rugby.”

Winger Radzevicius, who plays his club rugby at Southend, has played for Essex since the age of 16.

But he is relishing his latest opportunity to impress.

“I’m really excited about the game,” said the 18-year-old.

“Our previous performances weren’t the best but that doesn’t reflect how well we play as a team when everyone’s up for it. “Eastern Counties are always a challenge and are good opponents but playing at Allianz is a special opportunity.

“It’s not every day these opportunities arise and I think it’s going to be a really fast paced game of running rugby.”

The Laindon based Radzevicius has been joined in the squad by Westcliff scrum half Spivey.

And the youngster already has good memories of Allianz Park.

“I’ve played there several times in the past for either Saracens or Essex and I scored a try last time so it would be good if I could snatch another one this weekend,” said Spivey.

“It’s always exciting to perform at big grounds such as Saracens and it is a chance to impress and stand out.”

But Spivey is expecting a difficult game.

“Every county we come across are going to be a good team and Eastern Counties will give us a good game but I believe if we perform to our best we can definitely beat them no matter what the conditions,” said Spivey.

“I’m expecting a high intensity game and I’m really excited about it.”

Spivey is expected to line up close to fly-half Ramsey who has already made his first team debut for Southend this season.

And he cannot wait to make his first ever appearance at Allianz Park.

“I’m so excited to be playing at the home of the champions of England and Europe and it’s not everyday that you get to play in a place like that,” said Ramsey, 17.

“I’ve got a real buzz about the game and I’m hoping that we can pull it out the bag and get a good win behind us so it will bring confidence throughout the team “It’s a privilege to be representing my county with a great bunch of boys and hopefully we can pull a win out the bag.”
