WESTCLIFF will  be looking to get back to winning ways in National Three London & SE tomorrow when they host rock bottom Amersham & Chiltern at the Gables.

Amersham have triumphed just once in 16 games this season.

But Westcliff winger Ross Merrick has warned his side not to become complacent.

“We have pushed ourselves out of that bottom three with some great results so it is imperative that we don’t waste that now,” said Merrick.

“We all know how important this game is and we need to push on.

“We can’t afford any complacency and we have to approach it in the right way.

“Nobody is expecting an easy game and their recent results show they have clearly made strides from earlier on in the season so it’s definitely going to be tough.”

But Westcliff - who are 10th in the table - were without a fixture last weekend as their scheduled game at Westcombe Park was postponed due to a frozen pitch.

And Merrick was frustrated not to get the game on.

“The missed game wasn’t ideal,” said the winger.

“We have some important games coming up and momentum is key.

“However, it does give us a chance to get some injuries sorted before an important game, so you have to look at the positives.”
