MARCUS Bloomberg believes it is win at all costs for Southend Saxons against Chichester tomorrow.

A 10 point penalty deduction has left the Saxons struggling to avoid relegation from National Three London & SE.

And Southend skipper Bloomberg does not believe Southend can afford to lose this weekend.

“The game on Saturday is huge,” said Bloomberg.

“Due to our situation and position in the league it’s got to be a win at all costs.

“We can’t afford to give away any points to the teams that are siting above us but it’s going to be tough.

“Chichester have won their last three games and I’m sure they will be looking to keep that going.

“Like us I’m sure they will be fighting for every point available.”

Southend are currently 12th in the 14 team table, nine points from safety and 11 behind 10th placed Chichester.

But Bloomberg is keen to build on the Saxons’ vital 24-20 win against Guildford last weekend.

“The squad was buzzing on Saturday,” said Bloomberg.

“It was a much needed lift.

“With all that’s happened this season it’s been tough to say the least.

“Let’s hope we can repeat it tomorrow and keep pushing ourselves to show what we are capable of and get us back to safety.”
