SOUTH Woodham Ferrers will be looking to keep the pressure on London Two North East leaders Diss when they host Ipswich this weekend.

Second placed Woodham are currently four points behind Diss after suffering a 22-20 defeat against them in their last outing a fortnight ago.

And Woodham’s head coach Tony Woods is now keen to get back on track.

“Saturday’s game against Ipswich is huge for us because we need to get back to winning ways after losing to Diss last time out,” said Woods.

“Competition for selection and the intensity in training this week has been excellent.

“First team squad players who missed out against Diss got some game time for the two’s last week.

“I imagine both sides will be very strong this week which is great for the club.”

Woodham have five games left this season, with three of them at home and they remain determined to pick up bonus points victories to close the gap on Diss or to head into the end of season play-offs in the best possible form.

Woodham welcome back club veteran prop Neil Gittos for the game against 10th placed Ipswich this weekend after he missed the last two games.

However, Woodham will be missing Tani Loka in the engine room and Sammy Sharp is still out injured but they will still be confident of coming out on top against an Ipswich side who head into the game on the back of three successive defeats.

Table-topping Diss face what appears to be a far tougher test as they host third placed Cantabrigian, who they drew 25-25 with back in early November.
