EWAN Binneman is keen to help Westcliff bounce back when they head to Dorking in National Three London & SE tomorrow.

Binneman missed last weekend’s 50-12 defeat at home to Shelford.

And the tighthead prop is therefore eager to taste victory on Saturday as seventh placed Westcliff seek an immediate return to winning ways.

“It is very important to bounce back and put in the type of performance this weekend against Dorking that got us where we are in the table this season,” said Binneman.

“Watching the game last week I felt very annoyed for the boys on the pitch.

“We worked really hard but everything went wrong.

“Hopefully it will be a different story tomorrow and we can get a much better result.”

However, eighth placed Dorking are just one place and six points behind Westcliff and they will also be desperate to win this weekend.

As a result, Binneman is expecting another stern test.

“It’s going to be another tough afternoon,” said Binneman.

“Dorking are a really good outfit and, like us, if they turn it on they can be very difficult to beat.

“But hopefully we can do enough to win the game.”

Victory would also help Westcliff continue their fine season.

Last time around, they only avoided relegation after East Grinstead dropped out of the league following financial problems.

But Westcliff have been far tougher to beat this term and Binneman is keen to secure a top six season.

“We have set our goals and we want to finish sixth,” he said.

“But it’s a tough ask.”
