JACKSON Wray insists he is purely focused on ending the season in style for Saracens not England.

The former King John School pupil - who has been a regular starter for Sarries this term - has long been tipped for a first senior international call up.

But Wray is not thinking beyond attempting to pick up more prizes with Saracens.

“All I’m focusing on right now is making sure I play well for Saracens and doing all I can to help the team enjoy a successful end to the season,” said the 26-year-old flanker.

“Maybe a couple of years ago I would have focused more on England but if I keep doing all I can for Saracens and we have a good end to the season then hopefully I’ll be somewhere near.

“It’s obviously something which would mean a lot to me but I don’t look too far ahead anymore.

“I’m purely focusing on Saracens and our next game which is against Northampton this weekend.”

With as many as 13 England players tipped to be in the British Lions’ squad for their tour of New Zealand this summer, a number of uncapped performers are likely to be called up into Eddie Jones’ squad for a two Test tour of Argentina.

Wray has been heavily mentioned for a call up after again playing a key part for Saracens this season.

Sarries are currently third in the Premiership standings and made sure of a play-off spot with a 40-19 win against Harlequins in front of more than 71,000 fans at Wembley.

Saracens - who won a domestic league and European Cup double last season - have also made it through to the Champions Cup semi-finals where they face a tough looking test against Munster in Ireland.

“I’m sure it’s going to be a hostile atmosphere for that one but it’s being played in another great stadium (Aviva Stadium) and it will be a good one to be a part of,” said Wray.

“We aren’t really thinking about it just yet though as we have another important game this weekend against Northampton.

“It’s being played at Stadium:MK so it’s another nice ground and we’ll be looking for another win.

“All of the games are big ones now but we know we have to keep on improving if we are to repeat what we did last season.”
