WESTCLIFF full-back Sam Brown will be seeking a hat-trick of a different kind at Sidcup tomorrow.

Brown bagged a trio of tries in last weekend’s 69-5 win against Southend Saxons last weekend.

But he now has his sights set on helping Westcliff make it three London & SE Premier Division victories in a row when they travel to Sidcup on Saturday.

“I’m not normally much of a try scorer so I was quite pleased to get one let alone three but getting the win was the most important thing and hopefully we can get another one tomorrow,” said Brown.

“Sidcup have also won their first two games so we know we’re in for a difficult game.

“One of their wins also came against Southend so I’m sure it will be a closer game this weekend but it’s one we’re looking forward to.”

Brown will also be looking to shine as he bids to continue his own good start.

The 20-year-old joined Westcliff from Colchester on the eve of the new season.

And he already feels at home at the Gables.

“I’m enjoying it at Westcliff and being part of what is a really tight group,” said Brown.

“I’m at university in Colchester and my coach there knew I was looking to move to a new club and contacted one of the coaches he knew at Westcliff.

“Everything went from there and it’s been great here so far.

“It’s been made easy to settle in and things have going well on the pitch too.

“Hopefully that can continue this weekend.”

Westcliff are one of five teams to triumph in both of their matches so far this season.

And they will head into their latest clash full of confidence after thrashing Southend in a one-sided local derby which Brown relished.

“It was my first home game and it couldn’t have gone much better really,” said Brown.

“I knew all about the rivalry because I was at Colchester last season and we had a bit of a rivalry with Southend too.

“It was nice to get the win but that’s gone now and we have to maintain that good form so we can go on and have the season I’m sure this group of players are capable of.”
