SOUTH Woodham Ferrers made it back to back home triumphs in London One North with a 34-27 win against Old Priorians.
The victory moved Woodham up to 10th in the table and pleased skipper Warren Duggan.
“We were relieved to have won this game but we have much to work on in the week,” said Duggan.
“That’s particularly at the breakdown where Old Priorians frustrated a dominant display from our pack.”
Despite the final scoreline, Woodham started sluggishly and found themselves 12-0 down early on.
But a period of dominance from the home side’s forwards was rewarded with a converted try from Adam Brown before the visitors replied with a try of their own to lead 17-7.
However, Woodham’s Jake Rawlinsky soon touched down before the hosts started the second half superbly with two fine individual tries.
The first was a trademark barrelling run from Liam Searles and the second a superb breakaway try from Rawlinsky.
Old Priorians soon replied with a try of their own before a Jamie Cox penalty made it 27-22 to Woodham.
Moments later, the best move of the day resulted in a try for Jack Reeve, pictured above, on his return to his home club.
But injuries to Old Priorians soon resulted in uncontested scrums which blunted Woodham’s cutting edge and led to the visitors scoring the final try of the game in the dying seconds of the game.
