TABLE-TOPPPING Rochford Hundred continued their unbeaten start to the London Two North East season with a 69-10 win against Cantabrigian.

Rochford bagged 11 tries to maintain their 100 per cent record.

And Hundred’s first team manager Graham Pratt was full of praise for the performance.

“Overall it was a very gratifying afternoon where the line-outs were again dominated by Luke Court-Rhind and especially Sam Fombo, who had a storming game in the loose as well as the lineout,” said Pratt.

“Another player that put a marker down was young number eight Josh Hurley, who was everywhere all afternoon and is another big prospect for the future.

“There were many fine individual displays, too numerous to mention in fact, but this was a further step in team confidence and cohesion and although there are still a few things to sort out in training sessions it is looking good.

“The momentum needs to be kept up and slack periods in a high scoring game need to be addressed when Rochford come up against a team that means business.”

Rochford now also boast the best attacking and defensive record in the division and have already scored 265 points this term.

Hundred outplayed a gutsy Cantabrigian outfit and opened the scoring when Tom Pickering touched down for the first of his three tries.

Moments later, centre Tom Ashton also touched down for a try he converted before he did likewise when Adam Ferrier bagged a try.

Matt Needham then scored a fine individual try before young flanker Daniel Sowter also went over for a try.

Pickering then put Rochford further in front with another try before Cantabrigian bagged an unconverted try to cut the home side’s lead to 38-5 at half-time.

After the break, Pickering completed his hat-trick before Mitchell Bennett also scored.

By now Rochford were in complete control with full-back Mark Billings the next to score.

This time, captain Matt Stewart added the conversion before Bennett and Steve Jay also scored tries to complete a comprehensive victory despite a late try from Cantabrigian.
