BASILDON will be seeking a third win in succession when they head to Campion in London Three Essex tomorrow.

Basildon have made a solid start to the season.

But coach Mark Cuschieri is keen to keep the team’s feet on the ground.

“We have made good progress so far this year but no one is getting carried away,” said Cuschieri.

“We have another 15 league and cup games to go but all we do at this club is focus on the next game and prepare ourselves accordingly.”

That approach has seen Basildon win four or their first five games to move up to third in the standings.

And forwards coach Kris Chesney believes the club’s hard work in training is starting to pay dividends.

“Every training session is vital to how we develop this side and club,” said Chesney, who made more than 300 appearances for Saracens during his own playing career.

“We work hard to intensify and ingrain our basics, making sure that every player and team within this club is singing from the same hymn book.”

Basildon have loose-head prop Richard Heywood back this weekend and will be confident of seeing off a Campion side who sit second from bottom in the table.

Also in London Three Essex, sixth placed Canvey Island head to Maldon who sit immediately above them in the table.
