RICKI Gould insists Rochford Hundred will head into tomorrow’s clash with Chelmsford having learnt more about themselves.

The unbeaten London Two North East leaders were forced to dig deep to beat Norwich 26-15 last weekend.

But Gould believes the manner of the win will have helped Hundred in the build up to tomorrow’s encounter.

“Norwich was definitely our toughest test yet and I think we learnt a lot about ourselves in that second half,” said Gould.

“To come back from being behind at half time and get the bonus point win was pleasing and credit to the squad.

“I also think the game will help us moving forward.”

That quest will begin on Saturday as Rochford head to a Chelmsford side sitting second from bottom in the standings.

But Gould will be taking nothing for granted.

“I expect Chelmsford will be up for it and want some revenge after the game back at HQ earlier on in the season,” said the youngster.

“But we’re only as good as our last game and we want to keep getting better every week.

“There’s definitely a few people keeping a close eye on us waiting for us to slip up which is quite amusing.

“It’s almost like they don’t want to see a local club do well but that drives us on even more.”
