TIGHT-HEAD prop Ewan Binneman wants Westcliff to come back with a bang when they host Sidcup tomorrow.

Westcliff saw off local rivals Southend Saxons 52-0 in their last outing in mid-December.

And Binneman is now keen to secure more success against Sidcup as Westcliff step up their bid to secure a top four finish.

“I really want to get in the top four this season and with that in mind we need a win at the weekend,” said Binneman.

“It’s going to be hard to get fourth as we’re 10 point adrift at the moment.

“But if we play as we know we can and have a few good results it might still be possible and I think it’s definitely something we should be aiming for.”

Westcliff have enjoyed a fine season so far, winning eight of their 13 matches to sit fifth in the London & SE Premier Division standings.

And Binneman also feels the small break in the season will have boosted Westcliff.

“Having a well-earned break can sometimes be a good or a bad thing but I think this specific break was well timed from our point of view,” said Binneman.

“We enjoyed every minute of the win against Southend but we’ve forgotten about that now and we’re ready to go again.

“We’ve rested up and it’s time to get going again.”

And Binneman has been boosted by Westcliff’s level in training.

“It’s always going to be tough after a break but we’ve looked sharp in training,” said Binneman.

“We’re ready to get the ball rolling again and we’re looking forward to getting back out there again on Saturday.”

Sidcup head into the game sitting ninth in the table with six wins from 14 outings.

But Binneman is still expecting a tough contest.

“We can’t really look at the league table at this stage as everyone will be in the same boat after the Christmas game so this has the makings of another hard game,” said Binneman.

“But we came up short at their place earlier on in the season and we’re determined to make sure it’s a different story this time.”
