WESTCLIFF skipper Harry Branch is expecting a tough, physical contest against Westcombe Park’s ‘fat’ forward pack tomorrow.

Westcliff head into the London & SE Premier Division clash on a high after beating Sidcup 47-12 on Saturday.

And Branch is now keen to build on that triumph by brushing aside the Kent club, who are currently third from bottom in the table.

“I’m expecting nothing less than another win for us,” said Branch.

“We’re targeting a top four finish and this game is another step towards that goal.

“Going into the game against Westcombe Park I’m expecting a rather large/fat forward pack.

“I got reports when they played Southend that they were large so I’m sure the Christmas break has only made things worse for some!”

Westcliff go into the game sitting fifth in the table and Branch was full of praise for last weekend’s performance, which came after a three week break for Christmas.

“The win last weekend was brilliant and probably our best full 80 minute performance of the year,” said the scrum-half.

“The team is on a really good high at the moment.

“We got the huge win against Southend before Christmas and then another massive victory last weekend to back it up.

“Everyone is enjoying their rugby and playing brilliantly from one to 18 and long may that continue.”
