ROCHFORD Hundred’s first team coach Michael Guess feels his unbeaten side face their toughest test of the season so far at Camberley tomorrow.

The winners of this weekend’s RFU Intermediate Cup clash will be just one game from Twickenham.

And Guess insists Rochford - who top the London Two North East table - are determined to come out on top.

“I’ve been lucky enough to play at Twickenham twice, but some of these guys have never had that chance and it’s a big thing for us all to be in this position now,” said Guess.

“Some of the lads have kids so it would be amazing for them to see their dad playing at Twickenham.

“It would be special for all the families and the whole club too.

“We have a coach load of supporters going to the game on Saturday and you can see what it means to everyone.

“For little old Rochford to turn up there would be very exciting, but we can’t be thinking too much about it at this stage because we have a very difficult game at the weekend.”

However, Rochford will be making the trip in fine spirits.

Hundred have triumphed in all 17 of their league games so far this season, scoring 998 points in the process.

And Guess feels things could not have gone any better.

“We set our goals high before the season started, but if you had offered me maximum points in every game without losing heading towards the end of February I would’ve bitten your hand off,” said Guess.

“It’s certainly been a good season so far, but we need it to continue because we haven’t achieved anything yet.”

Rochford’s quest for success will continue at Camberley this weekend, but Guess is expecting a tricky afternoon against the London Two South West leaders.

“We don’t know too much about them, but I think this will be our toughest test of the season so far,” said Guess.

“They’ve only been beaten once and I think they must like to throw the ball around because they’ve beaten teams by big margins.

“It’s cup rugby, it’s a knockout and the fact we’re going to their place makes it even harder, but we’re looking forward to it.”

Camberley have triumphed in 16 of their 17 league games this season and are currently 16 points clear at the top of the table.

Camberley triumphed 55-0 against Effingham & Leatherhead last time out, but Rochford will also be full of confidence after beating Romford & Gidea Park 103-7 last weekend.
