ROCHFORD Hundred’s dreams of reaching Twickenham were ended by a 47-8 defeat at Camberley on Saturday.

The London Two North East leaders headed to the Intermediate Cup clash unbeaten so far this season.

But Hundred’s first team manager Graham Pratt has urged the team to immediately bounce back from the setback.

“There’s no real time for reflection as we now need to get back to the day job of winning the league and building on the lessons learnt on this painful afternoon,” said Pratt.

“We have Harlow away on Saturday, which will not be an easy task especially after this game.

“But the boys will need to respond positively, which I am sure they will do.”

Rochford - who sit 12 points clear at the top of the table - were initially on top at the weekend and a terrific break from full-back Mark Billings established them in their opponents’ 22 metre area.

From there, Hundred launched a number of attacks, which resulted in number eight Sam Fombo powering over for a try.

However, Camberley - who top the London South West standings - hit back with a converted try before a penalty from Tom Ashton put Rochford 8-7 in front.

But that was as good as it got for Rochford as Camberley replied with a penalty of their own and two more unconverted tries to lead 20-8 at half-time.

Rochford attempted to hit back in the second half, but Camberley continued to pile on the pressure and scored three more tries and two penalty kicks to complete a convincing victory.
