SOUTHEND Rugby Club captain Andrew McClintock wants his side to end their season in style at Launceston tomorrow.

The already relegated Seasiders have triumphed in their last two games.

And McClintock now wants to make it a hat-trick of wins.

“We want to go out with a bang and make it three wins in a row,” said the skipper.

“Things have clicked for us now and we're finally playing with the ability we know we've had all along.

“Our confidence is back and we have more self belief too which is obviously important.

“Launceston are a good side so it's going to be a hard game but we're in good shape and want another victory.”

Last time out, Southend saw off Wharfedale 33-24 at Warners Bridge and McClintock was again pleased with the performance.

But the return to form has come too late to stop the Seasiders suffering relegation.

“Overall I guess it's been a disappointing season,” said McClintock.

“We struggled earlier on in the season but we were never given a hiding by anyone.

“We lost 10 games by 10 points or less and that's what sent us down.

“It's frustrating but we will work hard during the off season and then come back stronger next year to push for promotion.”
