Westcliff and Rochford both in action away from home

Westcliff and Rochford Hundred are both in action away from home in London One North tomorrow.

Rochford, who are second from bottom in the standings, travel to sixth placed Letchworth Garden City - a side they lost to at home 29-13 earlier on this season.

And first team manager Graham Pratt is hoping to avoid a similar outcome this weekend.

“Letchworth are a big, strong outfit but we are playing much better now and know that if we can get our backs into play that we are a match for most teams in this league,” said Pratt.

“The trouble is, as always, getting sufficient good ball through the forwards.

“Having said that though our scrummage has improved a great deal and the line-outs are working well at the moment too.”

But Rochford will be without number eight George Chipper for the next two weeks as he is away ski-ing.

Subsequently James Needham returns to that position, with Gavin Dyer and Andy Baker in the back row.

Rochford will also be hoping that local rivals Westcliff, who are third, can do them a favour as they are away at struggling Harpenden, the side just above Rochford in the table.

In London Three North East, South Woodham Ferrers host Canvey Island in an intruiging local derby while in Essex Two Runwell Wyverns are at home to Stanford le Hope.
