SOUTHEND Rugby Club coach Kevin Harman has set his side a target of remaining unbeaten for the rest of the season, starting with a win at Wharfedale tomorrow.

The Seasiders have four league games and an Essex Cup final with Eton Manor left this term.

And Harman wants victories in them all.

"It's certainly something we're capable of doing," he said.

"The hardest game we have left is away at Stourbridge on the final day but even there we can get a result as long as the players go into the game with the right attitudes. That is what matters the most at this stage of the season."

The quest for a successful end to the campaign begins tomorrow with a game against the side immediately below them in the standings, Wharfedale.

Southend beat the Yorkshire side 32-21 at Warners Bridge back in November and Harman wants to complete a double.

"They have quite a good home record so it won't be easy but it's winnable going there," he insisted.

"They are quite an expansive side and have an excellent midfield who we will be wary of and shall have to try and deal with.

"In Chris Malherbe they have an excellent player and he is definitely the main danger."

The Seasiders, who have already made sure of their National League Two status for next season, will again look to star centre Faapulou Soolefai for their own main threat in what will be his final appearance for the club.

"He's been fantastic for us," said Harman.

"He has been an exceptional signing and has done tremendous things both on and off the pitch.

"We want to send him off in style but he would be the first one to admit rugby is a team game and he's done well because of everyone else who has been around him."

Southend have made one change to their starting line-up for tomorrow with prop Gary Smith replacing Michael Guess.
