Harman: Sign off in style
KEVIN Harman wants his Southend side to turn on the style in their final home game of the season when they host Nuneaton this Sunday, kick off 3pm.
The Seasiders have already secured their National League Two status for another year.
But with a big crowd expected at Warners Bridge, Harman is demanding a win.
"Our home record has been good this season and it's important we finish it off in the right way," said Harman.
"We've done well but want to keep it going to finish as high up the table as we can."
Harman will also hand on-loan youngster Mike Stanley his first Southend start tomorrow.
The England under-19 international centre is on the books of Saracens and the Seasiders coach is sure he has a bright future in the game.
"Mike has all the makings of a Premiership player," said Harman.
"He's still very young and will have to work hard but he looks good and has a lot of potential."
The match is the club's latest family fun day, with Saracens forward Kris Chesney on hand to coach Southend's mini and youth sections before the match.
Free face painting will also be available, along with a bouncy castle and a barbeque and Harman is urging more people to attend.
"It would be great if we could get a decent crowd," he said.
"We like doing the Sunday games because it doesn't clash with much else of the local sport and hopefully that will be reflected in the attendance at the weekend."
Harman is also hoping to give the supporters something to celebrate as the Seasiders seek revenge for a disappointing 16-12 defeat against a lowly Nuneaton back in December.
"That was one of our poorest performances of the season and we will be looking to make up for that," he said.
"They're fighting for their lives so it's going to be hard but if we play to our best we will win."
Prop Mark Williams faces a late fitness test on a knee problem but Gary Smith (groin) has been ruled out and will be replaced by Isaac Cook.
Anyone aged under 16 can watch Sunday's match for free, while members will be charged £5 and non-members £8.
