Wyverns win final on merit
RUNWELL Wyverns saw off Pegasus Palmerians 25-0 in the BL Merit final.
Runwell started the game brightly and opened the scoring from a line-out which resulted in number eight Matt Hemmings piling over for a try.
Robin Groves then kicked a penalty to make it 8-0 at half time and at the start of the second period Runwell went even further ahead with an interception try from fly-half Grant Coombs.
This dented Pegasus' moral severely and when two more late tries from Robin Groves and Brad Dunsford went over the celebrations were confirmed.
The cup was later joyfully collected by man of the match Richard Mason and captain Stephen Gould.
This victory has cemented a great season for Runwell, who also won Essex Three without losing a game.
